Westboro State- Childs Building

The Benjamin W. Childs building was constructed in 1908. This then-modern hospital building, which was aided by all the hydrotherapeutic and electrotherapeutic advantages of the time, was built for the acute female cases.
The opening of the Childs building made it practicle for the Codman building to be used for the acute
male cases. This was the first opportunity the hospital had for segregating the acute patients by gender, enabling them to receive equal therapeutic
advantages.
